Chagdud Rit'hrod is the retreat facility established by His Eminence Chagdud Rinpoche and is located on a hill above Pharping, Nepal. It is across the valley from the sacred Asura Cave where Guru Rinpoche attained siddhis through the practice of Vajrakilaya; generations of Vajrayana practitioners have studied and done retreat in the Pharping area, which is considered to carry great blessings.
Chagdud Rit'hrod houses eight to ten full-time retreatants, and as of August 2010 has already seen the successful completion of two retreats, the first lasting for five years and five months, the second three years and three months. The next long retreat will start soon.
